Welcome to Madison Morgans

We are a husband and wife team operating our small Morgan breeding farm located in the post-oak savannah of south-east Texas. Our horses live in a natural herd setting, grazing on pastures dotted with mature oak trees and fish-stocked ponds. The limited size of our operation allows us to pay attention to details: We develop personal relationships with each of our horses, enabling each to broaden their own unique personalities. We take the time to study bloodlines in the selection of the stallions we breed to our mares, concentrating on true Morgan conformation and disposition, qualities that have served the Morgan horse well for so long.

Our goal is to breed Morgans that are not only exquisitely beautiful but also have substance for athleticism, disposition for intelligence, and personality for common sense and tractability. With this in mind, our foals will be family-friendly individuals, poised to excel in any sport discipline, be it dressage, endurance, eventing, driving, working with cows on the ranch or as a safe and sound trail mount. Their future is your choice!

“Gabby” exudes Morgan femininity with her beautiful head, expressive eye, full mane and tail and show-quality conformation. She is also as sweet as they come, only wanting to please. Gabby was shown successfully at Wheat State Regional as a yearling and two-year old, winning her age group for mares, junior mares and reserve mare. Through her sire, Thunderbay, holder of 23 World and Grand National titles, the epitome of Morgan type, character, versatility and longevity, Gabby goes back to Beamington, Mr. Breezy Cobra, Ellen Bar, Dyberry Ethan and Lippitt Rita Roy. On her bottom side you will find a veritable “who’s who” from the traditional Morgan world: Upwey Ben Don, UVM Highlight, Sealect of Wind-Crest and Orcland Leader.

We are thrilled with her first foal, “Charlie”, and look forward to another attractive addition in 2008. She is currently bred to Caduceus Panache (Wyoming Flyhawk x MJVM Serena) for a black or bay sport horse prospect. Come check us out in April 2008 for baby pictures!

Phaon Pharms Annie’s Song

Although the youngest of our “herd”, “Annie” is head mare and keeps her charges in hand with only a look or turned ear. She is the first one to come looking for attention or cookies then will give “kisses” in return. She is a large mare with good bone and intelligence to do the job no matter what it happens to be. She will “take you to the head of the creek and back”. She has personality to spare, what a “people horse”! Annie’s sire, MEMC Tequila Cuervo, is Foundation bred through the Triple S breeding program of South Dakota. He comes by his strong Morgan heritage through multiple crosses to Red Correll, Morgan Gold, Bennington, Senator Knox and Mansfield. The bloodlines in Annie’s dam’s pedigree are heavily Lippitt with many crosses to the most highly regarded Morgan sires of modern times: John A Darling, Ashbrook, Jubilee King, Bennington, Lippitt Ethan Ash, Senator Graham, Mentor, Mansfield and Upwey Ben Don.

Annie is currently open but we have a future breeding to Hylee’s Black Tie Affair (Serenity Flight Time x Morningstar Mystery) reserved--certainly a colorful sport horse or western prospect to dream about!

lil pony Charlie

May 11, 2006,
Buckskin, small star, still growing!

AMHA # 171865

Just take a look at this special boy’s pedigree and you will know why he is so unique and impressive! For more than ten years his sire has produced impeccable colorful foals that have gone on to prove themselves in the show ring, working world and breeding shed. (For more on Tequila read about Annie above or click on the link to his webpage.) His dam has been successful in the show ring, trail rides, jumps, drives, is doing basic dressage and takes the family kids for rides around the farm all while doing her broodmare duties!
(For more on Gabby read above.)

Whether you are looking for that gorgeous stallion with great bloodlines (with the possibility of some exciting color) to start or add to your breeding program, or for that outstanding individual of true Morgan type with substance, intelligence, athleticism and personality to take you into the dressage arena, show ring or riding trails, look no further than Charlie! He has incredible attitude, charisma, beauty and refinement, making him a perfect stallion prospect, and the versatility and tractability of the classic Morgan.

Charlie has been handled daily since birth, loves to show off and be around people and learns his lessons quickly. At 15 months of age, he already stands at 13.3 hands and weighs about 725 Lbs. As a yearling, Charlie is really showing his future potential. He is stunning to look at; his coat shines like an opal, his frosted mane and tail are showy and flashy and already very long and he is perfectly and beautifully put together--no awkward teenage stage for him! We would love to keep him, but he is related to both our breeding mares so his potential would not be realized here. We are looking for a special home for our special boy--call/e-mail for more information and pictures.
